Fix Different SIM Detected Error after Activation with Phonebook SIM

Last time we told you that Sheriff Hashim discovered an unique way to activate iPhone temporarily. Phone Book card activation trick is useful for those who got carrier locked phones outside the country and looking for jailbreak and unlock. Worth to mention current generation jailbreak tool spirit and jailbreakme works with activated phones only.
Later it was discovered that if you activated your phone using phonebook SIM card, you will be getting a “Different SIM Detected” error on your iPhone lockscreen. Guy behind pushfix released a hacktivation patch to by-pass this error. Hacktivation will patch a system file on your phone, preventing future activation and keeping your current activation even if you change your SIM. Following are instructions to install the patch.

Step 1: Restore your iPhone 3G / 3GS / 4 to iOS 4.0.1
Step 2: Now activate your iPhone with phonebook SIM card.
Step 3: Jailbreak your iPhone with jailbreakme and then unlock with ultrasn0w.
Step 4: Now replace the phonebook SIM card with your SIM and ignore the “Different SIM Detected” error.
Step 5: Launch Cydia and go to Manage tab >>> Go to Sources  >>> and tap Edit on the top >>> Tap on add
Step 6: Add this source: http://cydia.pushfix.info
Step 7: Navigate to search button at bottom right and search for “Hacktivation Patch” and install the patch
