Here's What's New in iOS 4.2 Beta 2 For iPad [Full Coverage]

iOS 4.2 beta 1 was released on 15th September then following the traditional two week schedule, Apple released iOS 4.2 beta 2 last night to bring unexpected features to iPad. We are listing all the features with full details below.

New Multitasking Animation for iPad
That's the most important and big feature in this beta release, the arrival of real Multitasking to the iPad & different from iPhone's one. It's based on having your current screen slide to left, while the new one will slide around it horizontally to get on the front. Here's a video to see it in action [via MacStories]:

Game Center Indicator in the App Store
Apple added a new feature in this beta to indicate whether this game supports Game Center or not, this feature appeared in iTunes 10.0.1 app store and now it comes to the mobile app store for both iPhone & iPad [via iSpazio]

New Youtube Upload Options
By default, when you upload a Youtube video from your iPhone or iPad it goes public to everyone but iOS 4.2 beta 2 adds a new feature which allows you to choose one of three options when uploading a video [via 9to5mac]

New iTunes icon
You may hate the new iTunes icon but Jobs love it, so the old iTunes icon is now gone while promoting "Connect to iTunes", the new one replace it now.

Improvements & Optimizations
The recently released iOS 4.2 beta 2 apparently does much to improve memory usage, with some apps like Safari reportedly using nearly 25% less memory than in iOS 4.2 beta 1 [via iPadevice]

Internet Tethering on the iPad
We already talked about this feature hours ago, Internet Tethering option might allow you to tether your iPad 3G's internet connection to another devices as a laptop, so you will be able to share your iPad 3G connection with your laptop via USB cable.

GreenPois0n Jailbreak for iOS 4.1 Will be Out in Few Days

Pretty good news for all! GreenPois0n jailbreak for all devices on iOS 4.1 will be released really soon in the next few days (probably less than a week). Ok, pod2g, the well know iPhone hacker behind SHAtter exploit to pwn all devices forever has replied someone who is asking about release date. The answer was cool to everyone!

Thomas Lohner asks @pod2g about the release date:
the release date be count by days or week ?
@pod2g replied:
I would say days.
Another thing you have missed which confirms it's really soon. Chronic dev team member p0sixninja, the hacker behind GreenPois0n payload has just posted back SHAtter exploit on the iPhone wiki and saying The SHAtter Story Begins..

We will post jailbreak download links and guides as soon as the tool is available, Stay tuned folks!

Ultrasn0w Unlock for iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1, 05.14.02 Baseband Delayed

Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev Team are working hard to bring you a simple usb-based jailbreak tool to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on all devices including iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad, also new Apple TV. Of course some of you have upgraded to iOS 4.1 without preserving baseband, the baseband has been updated to 05.14.02 for iPhone 3GS or 2.10.4 for iPhone 4.

Ultrasn0w is the responsible tool to unlock all devices but Chronic Dev Team has to answer people with a simple tweet saying that they are both Chronic and iPhone Dev teams busy in developing the jailbreak tool which may be named GreenPois0n. So, they can't give an unlock for those stuck on 05.14.02 baseband.
To those asking about unlock: At this time, only the jailbreak is being worked on, as it requires the team’s full attention.
Don't be disappointed. Once they finish the jailbreak tool for all devices, they will start working again on unlocking these basebands, but don't lame them because the one who should be lamed is you as you updated without putting in mind that you will be stuck.

Jailbreak iPod Touch 4G with SHAtter Exploit [Video]

A few moments ago we surprised with a new video from the iPhone dev-team in their official blog, The dev-team confirmed that the SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to their custom IPSW. As you know the SHAtter exploit was developed by Pod2g (ex-Chronic dev). In addition, this success not only in iPod Touch 4G as the dev-team succeed in the same test with all iOS device bought after the JailbreakMe exploit was closed. Dev-team also confirmed that the team is hard at work bringing us a brand new tool to make use of the exploit.

Although PwnageTool was a useful first test of a full iPod 4G jailbreak via SHAtter, it’s really overkill compared to the faster tools being developed. Its main use in PwnageTool will be for those with iPhone4’s, to allow updates while preserving the baseband and ultrasn0w carrier unlock. In any event, this is another exciting time for iPhone and iPod touch users…the cat and mouse game continues!

However there is no ETA (estimate to arrival), but we can say it is pretty soon. as usual we will keep you tuned with any immediate updates.

New Cydia Update Coming Soon Will Bring Some New Features

We already told you about Cydia and Rock.app integration and it was a great success for Cydia, but some users noticed heavy load of apps, and some complications with Cydia. So, Jay Freeman (the creator of Cydia, a.k.a Saurik) decided to give Cydia tons of new features which will satisfy all users, also will improve some issues, and improve it's speed.

Here's the changes we could get:
  • Download all existing Rock apps from Cydia for FREE.
  • You will be able to log in Cydia with your Facebook or Twitter account.
  • Backup your existing packages installed in Cydia to be able to sync, or restore them on a another iOS device.
  • In the IRC Chat, you will be able to add votes and reviews.
  • Ability to feedback developers and hackers.
Of course there's no ETA for the update but according to some source, it may be launched with the launch of Greenpois0n jailbreak or before it. We will keep you informed so stay tuned ! [via iSpazio, Redmondpie]

GreenPois0n to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 is Ready to Be Released [Update 1x]

Good news everywhere floating on the web about iOS 4.1 jailbreak with GreenPois0n. The hacker behind SHAtter exploit has just published all decryption keys to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4. This means that the new USB-Based (Greenpois0n) jailbreak tool is completely done and ready to be released.

The keys were published on the iPhone wiki for iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1 to confirm that the tool is completed. According to multiple tweets from Pod2g, the developer of SHAtter's exploit, MuscleNerd has already used SHAtter with a pwned iBEC to get real proof that the exploit is working, iSpazio thinks that this words means theoretically that the new jailbreak is untethered (we hope so).

Pod2g didn't give any exact release time but believe me, it's very soon, we will keep you informed about any updates, stay tuned!

Update 1: The tweets from pod2g seemed to be a joke, he receive a lot of questions so he decided to make a joke to make people calm down.

Enable HDR and Game Center on Jailbroken iPhone 3G / 3GS running iOS 4.1

When Apple released iOS 4.1, it announced HDR photos for iPhone 4, and Game Center for iPhone 4 / 3Gs. So, iPhone 3G / 3GS users was not satisfied as much as other users with iOS 4.1 as they don't get HDR or Game Center, so, after the release of Redsn0w 0.9.6 to jailbreak iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 and Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1, you can now get both HDR photos and Game Center on jailbroken iPhone 3G / 3GS running iOS 4.1 with "HDR/GameCenter Enabler" tweak.

There's nothing easier than installing this tweak and enabling HDR photos and Game Center which Apple completely denied the compatibility of this feature on iPhone 3G. Of course this tweak works only on iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1.
Note: This tweak is available on Modmyi repo, works only on iOS 4.1, and can be activated once installed via Winterboard.

White iPhone 4 Coming to Walmart in the Next Couple of Days

That would be great if we saw Walmart the consumer giant, stocking White iPhone 4 in the next couple of days. Very interesting photo taken at Walmart stores from PocketNow shows White 16GB iPhone 4 for a price of $197 with a qualifying two year agreement. Many Walmarts have the Black 16GB iPhone 4 in stock now for the same price of $197.

There's no specific date for White iPhone 4 launch but Apple announced it will be launched on the end of 2010 (no, not Christmas). If the advertisement is correct we should be able to pick up one of these beauties soon. So, stay tuned and we will keep you updated whenever it's announced. [via PocketNow]

SHAtter Jailbreak for iOS 4.1 will be Released Soon, Not Waiting iOS 4.2

Pretty cool news, the administrator of the iPhone Wiki and the popular iPhone hacker behind modified blacksn0w on iOS 4 has just announced that SHAtter jailbreak will be released soon as the hacker behind SHAtter exploit is not waiting for iOS 4.2 release from Apple, so we should expect it anytime this week or next week, stay tuned!!

They won't wait for iOS 4.2 to release SHAtter. iOS 4.1 will be jailbroken soon.
iOS 4.2 is scheduled to be launched in November for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone, but if the developers of SHAtter are not waiting for iOS 4.2 then the release is soon, there's no ETA yet, at least I can say that we will not wait long for this jailbreak which is not confirmed yet tethered or untethered, also we don't know yet if it's named SHAtter or Greenpois0n. As usual we will keep you informed.

Chinese Site Claims Apple Finished Design of 7-inch iPad

Last month, we saw some rumors about a 7-inch iPad or know as "Mini-iPad" then a second generation iPad with FaceTime in the first quarter of 2011. Today, a Chinese site claims that design of Apple's 7-inch iPad is 'finished' and is said to be more like iPhone 4.

Image via iLounge
Yes there will be a 7” tablet, yes it’s well underway in terms of product development and in fact it’s a finished product. Yes 5 plus different designs have been floating around to help Apple protect itself from people discovering its next product look and feel but... the final design will in fact bear more resemblance to the iPhone 4 stylings than the original iPad design.
This second generation mini iPad should be from 700 gram to 500 gram. The final design seems to reflect the look of the iPhone 4, rather than the iPad, and it is likely to include front and rear video camera. So, what do you think? [via AppleInsider]

Download Sn0wbreeze 2.0 for iPhone 3GS / 3G on iOS 4.1 Jailbreak

The long overdue Sn0wbreeze 2.0 has been finally released few moments ago, to jailbreak iOS 4.1 for Windows users. This tool has been developed by iH8sn0w the well-known iPhone hacker, who is behind other popular iPhone jailbreak tools such as earlier versions of sn0wbreeze, f0recast, iReb and blackbreeze. As you know Sn0wbreeze just like PwnageTool for Mac OS. You can check Sn0wbreeze 2.0 compatible and incompatible devices after the break.

Sn0wbreeze 2.0 jailbreak compatible devices:
  • iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) –required jailbreak on 3.1.2.
  • iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) –required jailbreak. (If you are jailbroken using Spirit or JailbreakMe, use Spirit2Pwn from http://repo.woowiz.net)
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 2GiPod Touch 3G – required jailbreak on 3.1.2.
  • iPod Touch 2G (MC Model) – required jailbreak on 3.1.2.

iPod Touch 2G (MC Model) Pwned for Ever

Pod2g the guy behind the SHAtter exploit which will be used with Greenpois0n to create the new iOS 4.1 jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad, has discovered a new exploit that will pwn iPod touch 2G for ever, the new exploit called usb_control_msg(0xA1, 1) exploit. This is the fourth exploit discovered by Pod2G, really he is talented guy.

The new exploit technicality is complicated to understand through regular users, you can check this in the quote below to see how it works.
A heap overflow exists in the iPod touch 2G (both old and new) bootrom’s DFU Mode when sending a USB control message of request type 0xA1, request 0×1.

On newer devices, the same USB message triggers a double free() when the image upload is marked as finished, also rebooting the device (but that’s not exploitable because the double free() happens in a row). posixninja analyzed and explained this one.
You also have to know that the new exploit will also be used in the upcoming Sn0wbreeze 2.0, to jailbreak iPod touch 2G (MC Models) for ever.
Looks like sb2 will have otb support for ipt2g MC models too! :) thx @pod2g
@jonnyboywashere this exploit is only in the ipt2g, thats why pod2g published it on the wiki
Any way, we can sum up that the new exploit will pwn iPod touch 2G (MC Model) for ever. [via redmondpie & The iPhone Wiki]

New Untethered Userland iOS 4.1 Jailbreak On Its Way

May be we can call this HUGE especially when pod2g, the developer of SHAtter exploit, left the Chronic dev team and worked individually. Today, MuscleNerd has pretty much confirmed that Comex is still working on iOS 4.1 untethered userland jailbreak. After Redsn0w release yesterday to jailbreak iPhone 3G, and iPod touch 2G, someone has asked MuscleNerd if it support iPod touch 2G MC model as written on the blog. MuscleNerd answered him that it's supported but it's will be tethered until Comex release a new userland exploit.

Jonathan Kurtz asks MuscleNerd:
@MuscleNerd so redsn0w supports iPod touch 2g mc? Or is it a typo on the blog?
MuscleNerd replies:
@jonnyboywashere it does, but that ipt2g MC model will be a tethered JB at 4.1 until @comex releases a new userland exploit
This userland jailbreak from comex we already talked about when MuscleNerd confirmed that iOS 4.1 jailbreak coming from Comex. Then the talks changed when pod2g and p0sixninja came to the jailbreak scene, first, we published information about SHAtter exploit and USB based Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1. But today, we can't decide who will jailbreak iOS 4.1 and we can't decide it's tethered or untethered. As usual we will keep you informed by any updates.

Sn0wbreeze 2.0 jailbreak compatible devices:
  • iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) –required jailbreak on 3.1.2.
  • iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) –required jailbreak. (If you are jailbroken using Spirit or JailbreakMe, use Spirit2Pwn from http://repo.woowiz.net)
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 2GiPod Touch 3G – required jailbreak on 3.1.2.
  • iPod Touch 2G (MC Model) – required jailbreak on 3.1.2.
  • iPod Touch 2G (Non-MC Model)
  • iPod Touch 1G
Sn0wbreeze 2.0 jailbreak incompatible devices:

  • iPad
  • iPod Touch 4G
The incompatible devices have to wait for the upcoming Greenpois0n jailbreak. We will prepare the how to guides for the compatible devices once the Sn0wbreeze 2.0 is out. keep tuned. [via iDedicate]

Redsn0w V0.9.6b1 updated to jailbreak 4.1 on iPhone3G + ipt2g

We’ve released a beta version of redsn0w for the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G at FW 4.1 or 4.0.  It uses the same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit that we’ve been using since the 2.x days.  It does not include the SHAtter exploit developed by pod2g.  Nothing new is revealed to Apple with this jailbreak.
IF YOU USE THE ULTRASN0W UNLOCK, PLEASE WAIT FOR PWNAGETOOL TO SUPPORT 4.1.  DO NOT USE REDSN0W.  That’s because to use redsn0w at 4.1, you need to already have updated to official 4.1 from Apple.  If you do that, you lose the ultrasn0w unlock (possible forever).
The Windows version needs further testing, so for now this is available only for Mac OS X x86.
Note: if you have an “MC” model of the ipt2g, your jailbreak will be tethered…sorry!  (Consider rolling back to a FW supported by jailbreakme.com or spiritjb.com)
===== What devices, platforms, and FW versions are supported? =====
This BETA release supports:
  • iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G only (for now)
  • Mac OS X x86 only (for now)
  • 4.1 or 4.0 firwmare from Apple

    ===== How do I use it? =====
If you’ve already updated your device to 4.1 or 4.0, the next steps are:
    1. Launch the beta redsn0w 0.9.6b1
    2. Select your stock 4.1 or 4.0 ipsw (you’ve already used this to update your device to 4.0)
    3. Select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”.  Use DFU mode to install the jailbreak.
Note: If you choose to “Enable battery percentage”, you actually toggle that off and on via Settings->General->Usage.

VLC Media Player for iPad Hits the App Store

The long overdue VLC Media Player is now available for free on the App Store, VLC Media Player one of the best media players for Mac and Windows. You have to enrich your iPad by downloading VLC on it now, VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework, that plays most multimedias files and various streaming protocols.

VLC app developers confirmed that the app will be compatible with the most video formats without conversion and any other iPad apps. another good news, they confirm that VLC app for iPhone is in progress and would see the light soon.
To transfer video files to iPad, you only have to connect the iPad to your computer, then open iTunes, and through the File Sharing feature, found under "Appllications", copy all the videos you want to transfer to your iPad.

Download VLC Media Player for  iPad  [iTunes Link]

SHAtter Exploit Developer "Pod2G" Leaves Chronic Dev Team

Few minutes ago Pod2g the well-known iPhone hacker and who discovered the SHAtter exploit which will be used in the new iOS 4.1 jailbreak, he announced that he is not affiliated with Chronic dev team anymore, and now he is working independently.

As you know that Pod2g was the most important member of the Chronic dev team in the upcoming iOS 4.1 jailbreak project, he discovered the SHAtter exploit which will be used with the Greenpois0n tool to create the jailbreak tool.
From now on, I’m not affiliated with chronic dev team anymore. I’m now working independently.

This is not a big deal for final users at all, as I gave details of my SHAtter exploit to both chronic and iphone dev teams !

To clarify: I’m an exploit maker, not a jailbreak tool developer. SHAtter is my 3rd bootrom exploit (24Kpwn was a team effort tho).
As Pod2g mentioned that he is not a jailbreak tool developer, he is just exploit maker, and already he did his mission, so the rest tasks to develop the jailbreak tool is related to another team member. But I have to reassure our respectable readers that his left will not affect the jailbreak project. but all of this did not answer the question, Why Pod2g left the Chronic Team?

Newton OS Running on iPhone Thanks to Einstein Emulator [Video]

Forget iOS 4.2 and Android Froyo 2.2 on iPhone, Now it's time for Newton OS. This Monday morning, developer Matthias Melcher has wisely ported the forgotten operating system Newton OS onto iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. He's currently working on performance optimizations that'll hopefully have it running like a charm.

Einstein is an open-source project to run (via emulation) the Newton OS on modern hardware. It was written and released by Paul Guyot several years ago. It’s quite an amazing piece of work.

The project got a shot in the arm earlier this month when Matthias Melcher got it up and running on iOS and posted a video of himself running it on his iPhone. Being a Newton fan since my original MessagePad in 1993, it was quite a sight to see.

Matthias mentioned he didn’t have an iPad yet, so I grabbed the source and built it for my iPad so I could take a little movie and share

Even if the video embedded looks little slow and bad performance, but Melcher has mentioned that speed will improve as there are a lot of optimizations yet to be made.  [via PanicBlog]

Apple Just Opened its Own Game Site

This is really amazing,  Apple just announced its own Games section. Apple aims to cover all game needs for its big amount of users, as a lot of them are very interested on games, I would imagine the decision behind opening this helpful Games site is according to some statistics came from the App Store.

The new Games site will help you in searching for games, see game trailers, buy games,  the top rated games and etc. If you tried it let us now about your impressions.

GreenPois0n Jailbreak is Going Swimmingly, Nothing More!

Chronic Dev Team has posted a new blog post responding to people's comments who ask for any progress update in GreenPois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1. There's nothing to say except that things are going swimmingly and they are working hard for two purposes, the first to make the jailbreak untethered, the second is to release it as soon as possible. Nothing more to say!

    Image via Twitter
Here's the post from chronic dev team:
Many people in the comments are asking for a progress update. Any kind of update that we could actually give would be too technical for anyone to understand anyway, not to mention potentially reveal the exploit. Just know that things are going swimmingly and we are working as hard as we can. Any demos, screenshots, or *cough* download links will be posted to this blog before anywhere else, so keep an eye out!
The team is receiving  a lot of comments, emails and tweets from people waiting for a jailbreak for iOS 4.1 and may be iOS 4.2. So they posted this blog post just to make people more comfortable. As usual, we will keep you informed about any updates.

IPA God to Install Cracked Apps on iOS 4.1 / 4.2 Without Jailbreak

Some hackers are coming with a new app called "IPA God" which allows you to install apps from the App Store for free directly on your iOS devices. According to the developer, it don't need jailbreak. This apps is based on exploit found on iOS 4.2 / 4.1 that allows you to create particular files on the filesystem. It works the same AppSync works. So who to blame? I think Apple.

Of course the app is not available in the App Store and will not as Apple won't accept suck an app! But how will you get it? Ok, the developer says that the app will be available for download but you will have to pay him (under $20) to get the UDID registration for the app. Don't ask for the download now, we will post it whenever it's available.

The video above shows IPA God working on non-jailbroken iPad (will work on iPod touch and iPhone too), by the time, Apple will catch the exploit and address it in the next software update. This post shows the real difference between jailbreaking and app priacy. Jailbreaking is fully legal as it don't stole money but app priacy is illegal because it download paid apps for free, That's the difference! [via 9to5mac]

    Apple Launching iPad 2 in Q1 2011

Last week we reported you about the iPad 2nd generation, which rumored to hit Apple Store by the first quarter of 2011, this rumor has pretty much been confirmed today, as Digitimes reports that suppliers are preparing for the second generation of iPad.

Component suppliers of iPad are expected to start shipments for the second generation iPad at the beginning of 2011.
iPad 2 will maintain the same 9.7 inch screen, in addition Apple plans to add FaceTime video calling functionality. this look awesome.

Steve Jobs: White iPhone 4 will be Available for Christmas

Two months ago, Apple announced that they delayed the White iPhone 4 launch till the end of 2010, this was due to color issues, antenna issues and more. We are just three months away from the end of 2010, so Christmas would be the best time for White iPhone 4 launch?

iDB reader Nathan sent Steve this email:
Hello Steve, My name is Nathan, I’m a high school student from San Bernardino. I also happen to be one of your biggest fan and a total Apple fanboy and proud to be. I’ve been saving up money to buy the new iphone 4. I want the white one but Apple said it won’t be available until later this year. I know you must be asked this question hundreds of times a day but do you think we can expect to get the white iphone for xmas?
I hope you can answer. Thank you Steve
Steve Jobs replies from his iPhone:
    Christmas is later this year.

    Sent from my iPhone
Of course this may be not real source as it's unverified mail, we can't trust the source but at least we can get the hopes up as sounds very likely. We will keep informed, stay tuned!

Few hours ago we showed you in a short Youtube video that iPhone 3GS has successfully jailbroken on iOS 4.1 in , But the hot piece of news is that iH8sn0w, the well-known iPhone hacker, and the developer of f0recast, iREB and sn0wbreeze tools, has just confirmed that he successfully jailbreak iPhone 3GS (Old bootrom) on the newly released iOS 4.2 with Sn0wbreez.

So I just jailbroke by 3GS (Old bootrom) on 4.2 and Cydia/Icy/Rock wont work... Icy just wont update but launches. I haz ssh though. :)
As iH8sn0w mentioned, he still faces some issues, as he can't install applications from Cydia, Icy or even Rock. so he still work on fixing this issues to prepare the updated sn0wbreeze for release, till now we hadn't notified with the release date, but this progress indicates that it may be soon. Game Center Coming to iPhone 3G Through Jailbreak [CONFIRMED]

Yeah, you read it right! Game Center will be available for iPhone 3G (not compatible) as soon as iOS 4.1 jailbreak is released. That was confirmed by MuscleNerd, the well-know iPhone hacker behind the iPhone dev team. He answered someone asking him and the other hackers if Game Center will be available through jailbreak, and guess what?

Here's haPpy hArY asking MuscleNerd and other team members and iPhone hackers:
    @chpwn @comex @MuscleNerd @pod2g @p0sixninja @iH8sn0w . . "will gamecenter for iphone 3g be available through jailbreak..???”
    The helpful MuscleNerd answering him:
    @happy_hary yep
That was a good one! It would be interesting if Game Center really comes to iPhone 3G. The jailbreak will be available as soon as it's ready, pod2g is working hard on making the jailbreak available for all devices, we will keep you updated, stay tuned!

    GreenPois0n to Jailbreak iPhone 4, iOS 4.1?

Now, here’s an interesting piece of news coming from pod2g. Remember GreenPois0n jailbreak tool for iPad which was never released from p0sixninja, GreenPois0n will be back again to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad. Pod2g has hinted that he used the tool build by p0sixninja by running it on iPhone 4 and it works well.

Hey, @p0sixninja 's epic greenpois0n works well on iPhone 4G ! (need to work on the framebuffer code tho ! )
Greenpois0n jailbreak tool will be used as toolkit here alongside the latest bootrom exploit (SHAtter) by pod2g. This will save loads of time and cuts in jailbreak development of iOS 4.1 to half as Will Strafach points:
remember when we said greenpois0n would come to use later as a toolkit? using it to create this jailbreak is cutting our workload in half (or maybe more). that's why pod mentioned it.
It's not confirmed that the next jailbreak will be named GreenPois0n but at least the same code will be used to build the tool. Hackers are currently working hard to make the releases sooner than later, as usual, we will keep you informed by any updates about the tool.

iOS 4 Successfully Ported to HTC device [Video]

It looks like iOS 4 has been successfully ported to HTC device and everything in iOS 4 works like a charm on that HTC device. The porting of iOS 4 to any other device is a big for Apple. Every detail in iOS 4 works perfect on HTC although the slow performance on it, but remember, it was the same on iPhone 3G?

     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY-uRRCARJw&feature=player_embedded#!

There's nothing more mentioned in the description, you can see notice every detail in the video. The language is set to be Chinese. Then can iOS 4 be ported to other devices too? [via iSpazio]

Cydia Acquiring Rock your Phone [Rock.app]

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you might have heard about Cydia and Rock.app. They are both stores (the same as App Store) for 3rd party apps, themes, tweaks and everything you may want for your iPhone. Cydia was developed by Jay Freeman a.k.a Saurik, and registered under SaurikIT, LLC and is owned by Jay Freeman, and Rock.app is registered under Rock Your Phone, Inc and is owned by Mario Ciabarra.

Cydia was launched back in February, 2008 and Rock.app was launched later. Over the last two month, Jay Freeman & Mario Ciabarra was making a deal that has been finalized today. Cydia is acquiring Rock, in other words "Cydia Rocks".
After 10 days from now, most of the apps, tweaks, themes over at Rock.app will now be moved to Cydia, also users purchased apps from Rock.app will need to log in to Cydia to retrieve their purchased apps.

Honestly, I'm not satisfied with Rock.app as much as Cydia, but I was really surprised with the number below posted on Rock your Phone news:
    • Number of Developers with apps listed in the Rock Store: 124 (from 19 countries)
    • Unique iOS devices that installed Rock: 4.6 million (from 220 countries/territories) - Wow that is a lot of places!
    • Registered Rock Users: 2+ million
    • Number of App licenses sold: 500,000
    • Users of who took the plunge and bought something: 280,000 (from 185 countries)
    • Total Rock Your Phone Store revenue (March 12th, 2009 - September 2010): $3.3+ million
    • Number of Rock Employees (we are using the word employee loosely here but, hey, it is our company): 9
Pretty impressive.. Isn’t it? Well, merging of the communities will bring a lot of benefits especially that users don't like the ads everywhere in Rock.app. [via Modmyi]
