iPhone 3GS "device is not eligible" error while trying to Restore below iOS 4

As Usual Apple closes it's signature verification for iPhone 3GS for Restoring below 4.0 because it will always close old firmware verification whenever new version will come.

So People having problem has only one method to use, that is Custom 4.0 at the moment (old bootrom only)

If you try to use Custom firmware on new bootrom you will get error 16xx,3194.

Various methods to check Bootrom version of 3GS

1. Model Number of New Bootrom phones start with "MC"
2. Serial number is XXX4XXXXXXX or XXX0XXXXXXX
3. Handset should be in DFU mode
Device Manager on your Windows PC.
Look for 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller', you will find 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' as a sub item there.
Right Click and choose 'Properties', navigate to 'Details' tab and select Device Instance Path from the dropdown list.
At the end of this information string you will find the bootrom version, i.e. (iBoot-359.3.2) or up who knows .

iPhone 4 Jailbreak by GeoHot

limera1n, and Pwned4life exploit which he recently talked about at the Nuit Du Hack conference in Paris. According to his latest blog post, he has managed to jailbreak his iPhone 4 the day it got delivered to him by mail.

This is what he writes on his blog:
As far as a release goes, it probably won't happen from me. limera1n is little more than a raindrop on a website; it was never mentioned by me previous to this post. pwned4life is a complete invention of some blogger in a basement somewhere. When I said pwned for life, I was referring to the original iPhone, 3G, and Touch; which of course are, by the aptly named PwnageTool.

Again, please don't ask for release dates. Every person that does makes me want to release a little bit less.

Next iPod Touch to Get 3.2MP Camera, Not 5MP?

A couple reports indicate that the next iPod touch may get a 3.2MP camera instead of the 5MP one that John Lewis predicted at its Xmas in July event.

First, MacRumors asked iFixit if it was even possible to include a 5MP in the existing design. They were told that the iPhone 4 5MP (back) camera is 6.5mm thick, the iPhone 4 FaceTime (front) camera is 2.5mm, and the iPod touch (at edges) is 6mm thick.

This shows that the iPhone 4's back camera can not fit in the iPod touch, though the front FaceTime camera could. It's possible that Apple might "square off" the iPod touch design like the iPhone 4, but even so, Wiens still isn't sure that it would be possible in the current dimensions. That would mean Apple would have to make the iPod touch thicker as well as "squaring off" the design to accommodate the 5MP camera.

Today, 9to5Mac has heard from a 'well informed source' that the new iPod touch will have a 3.2 megapixel camera that has similar characteristics to the one found in the iPhone 3GS.

This camera would likely require less space allowing Apple to keep the current design. It would also add some separation between the iPhone and iPod touch.
